A very belated post about the D-Day -- April 21st 2013

Wow! April 21st and all I remember is waking up early in the morning, getting all my stuff ready, last minute waxing and bleaching :), trying to have the best bath I've had in ages and all this amidst so many people chitty chatting, non-stop phone calls and last minute questions from a million people. In spite of all this, I took a quiet moment to write a letter to JP to let him know before the wedding that I had no cold feet and was absolutely at peace in my heart and was waiting to be married and start our new life together.

I decided to dress up at the parlor in order to have my own privacy and enjoy the quiet time before the big celebrations lined up that evening. I chose to get dressed up by Alice Weston of Cuts & Curls in Kilpauk. Big thanks to her and her sense of taste and style, I did not look overdone or too flashy! Once I got ready, off I went to my house to get blessings and prayers. At the same time, JP got ready and left home to the church. He then sent me our wedding car (A Jaguar :) .... t'was JP's decision) to pick me up and bring me to church. I remember the first moment I saw JP - all dressed up and so handsome with his groomsmen waiting for me.
The church service was an absolute blessing for us and everyone else that atended it. Big thanks to the Perambur Youth choir, Fr Joe Andrew and the rest of the priests, Andrea for the decorations and the rest of the folks who helped us out. Both of us had to admit, it was our paparazzi day. An hour of photo session and people were still clicking pics of us at the church. We rushed to change dresses and get ready for the reception. It was held at Don Bosco, Egmore which happened to be JP's alumni as well. We got late for the reception due to the extended photo session that happened at church. Thankfully, our gathering hung around patiently for us and welcomed us with a standing ovation as we walked in. The rest of the evening was tiring coz we had to stand the whole time to greet everyone that came on stage to wish us. We got several compliments from everyone about the car, decor, service, food and not to forget the dresses (oh well, the gown had to come out good coz it was in planning process since I was in Class 2, lol). But it was an evening I will never, ever forget .... lots of love, happiness and smiles and you ponder and think .... this is how life is meant to be - right? We came home, chatted with our siblings and retired to our rooms around 1 am early morning. Finally, the moment of us being together happened ... we spent it looking at the first sneak peek of pictures that friends had posted on FB and sent to us. A first hug and a gentle kiss and we fell flat out snoring next to each other exhausted but exhilarated at the end of the day :)

Before, I wind up this post, I really want to thank both our parents, our super smart siblings &
family and our 'always there for you' friends for giving us the wedding that we dreamed of. Our April 21st would not have been possible without each of your part in it.
